A Treat That Just Has to Be Shared

I was introduced to a recipe this weekend that is just too good not to share. If you like a sweet treat and are trying to cut back now that the new year is here, then this is a good one to try.

Dreamsicle Cake

1 box Duncan Hines Classic White Cake Mix
1 can diet orange soda
2 egg whites

1 small box sugar free orange jello
1 cup hot water
1 cup cold water

1 small box sugar free orange jello
1 small box fat free/sugar free instant vanilla pudding
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups 2% milk (I used 1% and it was fine)
1 small tub Cool Whip Free, thawed

Mix cake mix, soda and egg whites. Pour into 9 x 13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Cake is done when a toothpick poked in the center comes out clean.

Mix 1 small box of sugar free orange jello with 1 cup hot water until jello is disolved. Mix in the cold water.

Poke holes in cake with a fork that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Pour jello evenly over warm cake. Refrigerate 2 hours.

Mix 1 small box fat free/sugar free vanilla pudding and 1 small box sugar free orange jello together. Stir in milk and vanilla until well blended. Slowly fold in the Cool Whip Free until well combined. Spread mixture over cake to frost.

A 9x13 pan yields 15 servings. Each has 2.8 grams of fat and 140 calories. And it is so good even my hubby liked it.
